In short

- Your driver waits just past the exit from the baggage hall in Building B, with a name sign.
- 60 minutes of waiting after landing are included, and your flight is tracked.
- Old Town €50, Lapad €50, Cavtat €35 by car, per vehicle.

## What does a car with a driver from the airport cost?

Every airport route has one price per vehicle, whatever the number of passengers: €50 by car to the Old Town and €35 to Cavtat, with fuel, tolls, waiting time and VAT included. These are the 2026 prices, the same by day or night and at weekends.

## Where your driver waits

Arrivals are on the ground floor of Building B. On the [airport’s own plan](https://www.dbv.hr/en/map-of-the-airport/50), passengers leave the baggage hall through a single “Exit from zone” door into the public hall, where the information desk, the cash machines and the tourist-agency desks are. Your driver stands just beyond that door with a sign showing your name, so there is nothing to look for: walk through and you meet.

Passengers on flights from outside the Schengen area pass through passport control before the baggage belts. Since 10 April 2026 that includes the [EU Entry/Exit System](https://www.dbv.hr/en/eu-entry-exit-system-faq-important-information-for-passengers/1879) for non-EU passport holders, with self-service kiosks for the first registration. A first entry can take longer, and your driver’s waiting time starts from the landing, not from the scheduled arrival.

## How long the drive takes

The [airport](https://www.dbv.hr/en/getting-to-dbv/54) is 22.5 km from the city and puts the drive at 30 to 35 minutes, or up to an hour in the summer months. From the terminal:

- **Old Town:** about 22 km, 30–35 minutes.
- **[Lapad and Babin Kuk hotels](https://dubrovnikcarrent.com/car-hire-lapad-babin-kuk/):** about 25 km, 35–40 minutes.
- **Gruž port:** about 22 km, 30–35 minutes.
- **Cavtat:** about 6 km, 10–15 minutes, the closest resort to the airport.
- **Mlini and Srebreno:** about 10 km, 15–20 minutes.

## Late and early flights

Dubrovnik’s arrivals run late: on 1 October 2026 the [arrivals board](https://www.dbv.hr/en/arrivals/40) listed the last evening landings at 23:10, 23:25, 23:35 and 23:40, with two more flights after midnight. An airport transfer with your own driver runs at any hour by advance booking, and the price is the same at 01:00 as at noon.

## The shuttle, the taxi rank and the apps

The official airport shuttle is run by [Platanus](https://platanus.hr/dubrovnik-airport-shuttle/) and costs €10 one way or €15 return in 2026; a bus leaves about 30 minutes after each arrival and calls only at Ploče Gate and the main bus station in Gruž. Taxis wait at the rank in front of the arrivals building, and the [airport](https://www.dbv.hr/en/taxi-and-rent-a-car/58) displays their price list at the taxi information window. Uber and Bolt take airport rides too, with the price shown in the app. A car with a driver is booked before you fly, waits inside the hall rather than outside, and takes you to your door; our guide to [Uber, Bolt and taxis](https://dubrovnikcarrent.com/blog/uber-bolt-taxi-dubrovnik/) compares the three.

## Straight to Montenegro

The Karasovići border crossing is about 17.5 km south-east of the airport, closer than the Old Town, so a trip into Montenegro can start straight from arrivals. Herceg Novi is about 28 km from the terminal by OpenStreetMap routing. Everyone in the car needs a passport, or an identity card for EU citizens, and summer queues at the border can be long.

## Questions about airport pick-ups

### How far is Dubrovnik Airport from the Old Town?

About 22 km by road. The airport puts the drive at 30 to 35 minutes on average and advises allowing up to an hour in July and August.

### Where exactly will the driver wait?

In the public arrivals hall of Building B, just beyond the single exit door from the baggage hall, holding a sign with your name. The hall also has the information desk, cash machines and a café.

### What if my flight lands late?

We track the flight number you give us, so the driver adjusts to the real landing time. The first 60 minutes after landing are included, to give you time for passport control and the baggage belt.

### Does the airport shuttle go to Lapad or Cavtat?

No. The official shuttle stops only at Ploče Gate and the main bus station in Gruž, and costs €10 one way in 2026. For Lapad, Babin Kuk, Cavtat or Župa dubrovačka, the choice is a taxi or a car booked in advance.

### Can you drive us from the airport straight to Montenegro?

Yes. The Karasovići border crossing is only about 17.5 km from the airport, so a trip to Herceg Novi, Kotor or Budva can start in the arrivals hall. Send the flight number and the address for a price; everyone needs a passport.

### Will we go through the Entry/Exit System when we land?

If you hold a non-EU passport and fly in from outside the Schengen area, yes: the first entry records fingerprints and a facial image, and the airport has self-service kiosks for it. EU citizens are exempt.
